Normandy led the conversion of the historic Ames Building, one of the tallest load-bearing masonry structures in the world, into a 114-room boutique hotel with full-service restaurant, bar, and fitness space. Originally constructed in 1889 as a headquarters for the Ames Tool company the Byzantine and Romanesque-style building was on the National Register of Historic Places. The property is located adjacent to the intersection of State and Congress Streets near Government Center and City Hall.
