| Normandy Real Estate Partners is dedicated to energy efficiency and committed to environmental sustainability across the enterprise and across our portfolio. As a member of the US Green Building Council, we’re implementing numerous initiatives that strive to set new standards for energy efficiency and sustainability. We know that these efforts will result in wins for both the environment and the bottom-line, as well as keep us at the forefront of the real estate industry. - Green Team
We've created a team of building managers and facility operators who are dedicated to monitoring and improving the environmental performance of all our assets. - LEED Certification
We're assessing all our properties, improving standard operating procedures where necessary, and will be applying for certifications with LEED, which is an internationally recognized green building certification system. - Carbon Footprint
We're calculating our nationwide carbon footprint to identify our organization’s impact and to help us find ways to make fiscally and environmentally responsible improvements. - Tenant Awareness
We meet with our tenants regularly to discuss energy-saving tips, recycling procedures, and other "green" opportunities. For example, on Earth Day 2011, we partnered with them to turn off power-consuming appliances for two hours. Normandy is using the latest technology to track, maintain, and report the energy and sustainability performance of every asset in our portfolio. - Real-Time Sustainability Monitoring
We track our sustainability practices at every level using state-of-the-art technology. This makes our performance data available in real-time, which helps us identify best practices and track the implementation of our initiatives. - Real-Time Energy Monitoring
We monitor our energy consumption across the portfolio using best-in-the-industry tracking software and improve our energy efficiency through timely and appropriate operational adjustments. - Energy Star Benchmarking
We continuously measure the energy efficiency of all of our assets using EPA's Energy Star Benchmark program, which rates the energy performance of buildings against similar buildings across the country. Normandy has already accomplished several energy-saving and environmentally-sound achievements. - Solar Power and Renewable Energy
We've installed rooftop solar systems at two of our New Jersey sites that will offset approximate 3,880 tons of C02 over the next 25 years, which is the equivalent to the annual greenhouse gas emissions of 740 gasoline-powered vehicles. - Green Cleaning
We've implemented Green Cleaning practices in our buildings to ensure that our maintenance staff is trained in the latest eco-friendly cleaning practices. - Green Purchasing
We're working with our suppliers and vendors to ensure environmental standards are being met by their organizations and the products and services they supply. - Water Conservation
We're tracking all water consumption of our assets. With this information, we're prioritizing areas for conservation and efficiency improvements that will reduce unnecessary water use and save money. - Waste and Recycling
Our recycling and waste management practices divert valuable office waste and electronics from landfill. We're also working with our haulers to provide transparency in their waste and recycling collection and processing policies. - Demand Response
Our buildings participate in Demand Response programs which curtail energy use in times of high demand when requested by the utility. This reduces load on the utility providers, saves money, and improves the environment.
